Planting Gardens

A week or so ago we were having some unseasonably warm weather here. The kind that makes you beak out the shorts and realize you dont have any sunscreen thats not expired!

We were able to get out and about every day during that nice weather, which was something everyone (mostly my sitr crazy 2 year old) really needed! We ate dinner on our patio every night, we to the park everyday at least once, went on evening walks around the neighborhood, played in the yard, met up to celebrate with old friends and planted spring flowers. It was a great week, made me so excited for summer!

During one of the days savanna and I planted some flower seeds and some bulbs in some hanging baskets that we found at the dollar store! (sometimes that place has GREAT finds!)

At first she was just throwing them in
But then she got a little more concerned with placing them just right!
She was most excited about scooping the dirt with her princess cup

She doesnt enjoy having stuff on her hands, constantly wiping them off!

we planted a few bulbs in each of the 4 baskets, and them sprinkled them with wildflower seed mix
Then we gave them a good soaking!
watering her gardens has become her favorite daily activity!
As I was hanging up the holders on the fence for her baskets she got a hold of the box with the rest of the wildflower seeds
she just wanted to ensure that a few flowers would be GUARANTEED to bloom in this one! :)

This is just TWO days later...sava

Oh my funny faced little girl!

The other day while I was feeding Adam, Nana was having a "saaack" (snack) I was taking pictures of adams gums and she said "hey, Takea my pictha mama"

I love all her facial expressions and never seem to be able to capture them spur of the moment so I took the opportunity to see If I could get her to do any of them

She really likes to show off her teeth!

 This is her "angy" face

 Pure happiness

Not sure what I asked her here....But she was clearly not going to do it!

This is her cold face. She makes this face and shakes. I have it on video its the most adorable thing ever.

 Say "cheese"

I said make a funny face....she obliged. :)

I love this little girl more than I ever imagined someone could love.

Daddy's Little Girl - "We sabing mama!"

I think it might be an understatement lately to say that she is daddy's little girl. She has had him wrapped around her finger since birth of course, but since Adam's arrival she has definitely made it clear that Steven is her "parent of choice" when it comes to bath, bed, feeding, dressing, changing, and even pooping! If Steven is home, then its "NO, MAMA! Daddy do!!"

So one evening when Steven was shaving and Savanna was attached to his hip watching him she appearently wanted to try it out too!
I happened to be snapping shots of Mr.Man in the next room and when I went to check out what all the giggling was this is what I saw

At first I freaked out that he was really shaving her face....
but he really wasnt, And she was none the wiser!
Look at him look at her....

She was so proud cause she was "sabing wiff daddy, Mama! We sabing!"

Oh the similarities...

This picture was taken on Savanna's first Christmas at my Auntie Claudias house.

Savanna - Christmas 2008 - 2 months old

We went there on Christmas again this year, and I thought to get a "similar" photo of Adam.

Adam - Christmas 2010 - 4 months old

As I was just looking for the photo of Savanna, I was blown away a how much they look alike!
Man, Look at those CHEEKS!  I LOVE IT!

Photos with Santa!

On Monday I took the little ones to see Santa. My friend Lucy is an amazing photographer and she also works for Raleys, she was taking the photos again this year. I never miss an opportunity to have her snap a shot of my kids!

Adam did great, he actually sat there for about 10 minutes while my brother and I tried to bribe Savanna to sit on his lap

We had no luck, so Lucy did what she did last year and put Savanna in a shopping cart with Santa and Adam in the background!

It of course turned out great!

Here is last years shot!

Nana's happy Day preperation -Part 2- Birthday Banner

While I had planned to have this party outside since we had been having BEAUTIFUL fall weather here in Sonoma County, Mother Nature decided otherwise. I hadn't planned much in the way of decorations but since we were moving this shin-dig indoors, I decided I needed to do something! I have seen these banners all over blog land, so this was in NO way my very own invention, only my design! They are Super easy and actually fun to make!

First thing, Find a font you love, I used Curlz MT, which worked perfect for my 'seussish' theme but was really actually kind of a pain to cut out.

Type out your signage in word or what ever program you have and blow it up to about 300% and bold your letters if you like. Then print out your signage on card stock and start cutting! This was a tiedious process, I did a few letters each time I nursed threw out the day.  At this point, also print out any shapes and numbers you may want as well, I did "2" and A star!

Then cut out your "flags" I just used a random assortment of card stock that I had in my scrap booking supplies

And then I did some smaller flags in regular scrap-booking paper in random prints, glued them to the card stock and then glued the letters to the paper!

The best part of my theme this year was that because it was "seussish" imperfection was KEY. it gave all of my projects that special something!

I used scrap-booking eyelets to connect each flag to the next, and In between each word I used a star shape with the number "2"

I think it turned out Fantastic, and in all honesty its November 2, and its still hanging up. Every morning when Savanna Comes down stairs she says  "oh happy day nana"
I plan on taking it down....at least before she turns 3!

I'm actually going to keep this for next year and replace the 2's with 3's!

My "baby" Girl.

Can you believe she went from this:

To this:
In the blink of an eye.

Miss Savanna you are the light of my life. Everyday you amaze me.
From your head to your toes
your personality
your spunk
your LOVE of your brother
your ever growing knowledge
the cute way you say "Sleepy HEEEEAD"
to the way you command a room when you enter.
your admiration of your sister
the excitement in your eyes when daddy comes home
your eskimo kisses and
"goonite nooon"

I never knew how deep my heart was untill the moment I held you in my arms.

The world is yours baby girl, I have no doubt you will conquer it!
