ABC's of me!

Ok this took a while but was well worth it! hope you find time to read it! and perhaps do it your self!

A - ADVOCATE FOR: things being fair. I have always hated when things seemed unfair. and while I know the world is not always fair, I try to do what I can in my power to make things fair for me and those around me.

B - BEST FEATURE: my skin, but I love my eyes, But if you were to ask my husband he would say my boobs, which are pretty nice too if do say so my self!

C - COULD DO WITHOUT: Spider and Bugs. EWWW i hate creepy crawly things. and i also don't like things that fly, except butterflies and lady bugs. I don't know why i like those two Creatures. maybe cause they are pretty.
I could also do with out people who strive to make others lives difficult.
D - DREAMS & DESIRES: More than anything, I desire balance in my life. That is my endless struggle. My marriage, my responsibilities, my hobbies, my health, my friends , my down time... I want to find the perfect balance to effectively manage all those things, so that nothing is neglected. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK?!

E - ESSENTIAL ITEMS: My camera, I love to always have it, and when ever i don't i always feel like i just missed some great opportunity, Bare essentials make-up, it makes my skin feel so clean and healthy, its pure and actually good for your skin, it allows it to breathe and that makes for less break outs. I cherish my nice skin.

F - FAVORITE PASS TIME: Scrap booking, I'm a pretty creative person when the mood strikes me. Also love camping, I would trade a week at Disneyland to camp. and I'm talking tent camping, bare minimums, i love to camp!

G - GOOD AT: I'm good at lots of things, or at least i like to think i am! The one thing I hope to be good at is being a mom. Only time will tell.
H - HAVE NEVER TRIED: There are lots of things i want to do that i have never tried, and many things i have never tried that i never want to try, like drugs , i have no need. I would love to however try to travel to as many places as i can, I would also like to try to learn to scuba dive, but the feeling of breathing underwater freaks me out, and I am not even good at Snorkeling.
I - IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS: oh man, lets see i would buy a nice modest house, and furnish it. an a nice new car for me and my hubby and put the rest away for my children's education

J - JUNKIE FOR: snacks. I'm a snacker, who needs meals when you can just snack. also I'm a soap opera junkie. totally addicted to days of our lives, and trashy celebrity reality tv.

K - KINDRED SPIRIT: I think my friend heather, even though we have known each other only 3 years, its like we have lived the same lives. sometimes we scare each other with how alike we are.

L - LITTLE KNOWN FACT: I love to be lazy, some of you may know this already, but give me a choice of staying in my PJ'S all day lounging around watching movies or going somewhere, even somewhere fun, i will most likely choose to be lazy!

M - MEMORABLE MOMENT: My first Kiss with Steven. All though I always wanted to, it was ever so unexpected but unavoidable at the same time. That Kiss changed my life, and it profoundly changed Steven's, and most will say for the better. I cannot imagine if my life had kept on the path it was until that moment, Who knows where i would be or what i would be doing, And Steven for that matter too. Well i don't care to know cause i know i am exactly where i am supposed to be.
N - NEVER AGAIN WILL I: humm this is a hard one, There are many occasions where i have said "never again will i do this, or never again will i help them, or never again will i let that happen, truth is you cant say never, cause you honestly don't know what the circumstances will be the next time your faced with a similar situation. You may not have a choice, at least not one you could morally live with if you say no. So I would like to say that Never again will i be taken advantage of in any situation, but that is just a hope, because you really never know that until after its happened.

O - OCCASIONAL INDULGENCE: humm...i believe i have a few of these, I have come to hate spending money, I'm talking in large chunks, It makes my stomach turn, I like to get the most out of our hard earned dollars, But sometimes it just feels good to splurge. weather its a nice dinner out, or a new fancy gadget, sometimes you just need to!
(but it still makes my stomach ache when i see the bill!)
P - PROFESSION: Right now i work in an accounting office for a very nice golf course. I don't see this as my profession, rather just a job, there is no room here for advancement, were not a growing company. I see myself in the health care profession, and i need to find a way to get there. I want that to be my profession and am trying to figure my best options for this, as i see this profession one that has mass flexibility that will afford me the most time to be what i am I'm a wife, a daughter, a granddaughter, a cousin, and aunt, a step mom, a friend, and in seven months i will become the most important profession in the world, a mother.

Q - QUOTE: Sing like no one is listening, dance like no one is watching, love like you'll never get hurt and live like its heaven on earth.
i don't know who said it but its a great one

R - REASON TO SMILE: my husband. he is truly a great man. he boggles my mind and frustrates me too, as i KNOW i do to him. But at the end of the day he makes me the happiest i could have ever dreamed.
S - SORRY ABOUT: my stubbornness, i know it drives many people in my life crazy (Steven) and I'm sorry that i cannot be less stubborn, but I'm also proud that I'm so stubborn, so that i have the courage to stand up for what i believe. Most people think its just cause I'm being a bitch or i hate being wrong or i don't like when things don't go my way. but its truly about passion and what i believe. (OK sometimes its all the other stuff to, but not always) I think it goes back to my great desire for everything to be fair.
T - TIME OF YOUR LIFE- I would have to say on my honeymoon, We went Quad riding, it was raining it was muddy, we were covered from head to toe in clay, we had to throw away all the clothes we were wearing, and shoes, but it really was one of the best days ever. Such a blast
U - UNINTERESTED IN: people that like to bitch all the time about everything always going wrong in there lives and NEVER try to make things better for themselves. especially when they are perfectly capable.
V - VERY SCARED OF: Clowns...I severely HATE clowns. and i dont hate many things. I've never been attacked by one, or tormented by one, but i have a hate for them like no other. They have no purpose, they need to go away also the dark. mostly outside in the dark but really if there is a light and I'm walking around it will be on, i just don't like the thought of what COULD be in the dark.I sleep in the dark yes, and i do not have a nightlight. but Too many scary movies when i was younger I'm sure. as i get older this fear gets worse
W - WORST HABIT: picking at my nails while i watch TV. mostly my toes nails. its bad, i have to get acrylic over my big toes so that i stop and my feet don't look so horrible when i wear sandals
X - X MARKS MY IDEAL VACATION SPOT: Tahiti, the Caribbean, Hawaii, anywhere warm really.

Y - YUMMIEST DESSERT: cheesecake. hands down, no fruit on it just the yummy white sour cream type topping.

Z - ZODIAC SIGN: I am a Sagittarius, and I have a really hard time getting along with other people of this same sign, is that weird
basically this is me in a nut shell...ok clam shell, cockel shell, well what ever the shell its a pretty big shell!

sleep?

yeah i miss the nights where i slept threw the night, slept in really late in the morning, never woke up in the night. pshhh those are looooongggg gonnnnnneeee. :(
seems i cant get comfortabe in my bed. I think my husband is hogging the bed, and he is definitly hogging the covers, which is so annoying. we are totally oppisite sleepers. NOTHING wakes him up. EVERYTHING wakes me up. if he so mush as breathes funny im awake. aside from my husband, i have my dog, chomper, who is a GREAT sleeper, only he likes to cuddle and that gets kind of annoying after a few hours. OH and then i have my cat. His name is EVIL KITTLY, EK for short, and that should pretty much give you an idea of what he is like at night. Usualy he pounces on you, attacks you and bites you cause he thinks it fun, but lately he has wanted to cuddle, and he wants to be right in your face and he purrs so loud and rubs his face all over yours. annoying.
plus there is a ROOSTER that lives out side my house, and living where i do its nice and clear and the moon is bright...this rooster crows at the f-ing moon. yeah. the moon.
not only do all these things wake me up but then i get up at least once to pee, and once cause i need water.

i have a feeling this is gonna get worse before it gets better!

my cousin turned 30!

Janel is one of my best friends. She is an amazing person with a heart of gold. She is a great listener and and a great friend, I'm blessed that not only is she my friend she is my family. They say you dont get to choose who your family is, but your stuck dealing with them forever, and this may ring true for many people in our family Janel is not one of them. I would choose her over and over. We often joke that were separated at birth, or were meant to be sisters. We are two of a kind, definitely cut from the same cloth.
We have very similar qualities, hobbies and now lead very similar lives, Janel met a great man, her perfect match, who at the time had a 1 1/2 year old daughter. Her name is April, and she is 6 months older than Brynn, They too are best friends! She is always there for me, as we have to deal with very similar issues, it nice to have someone that understands exactly what your going threw and feeling!
Here's to you Janel, and to a lifetime of friendship!

Today is her 30th Birthday. Wow it seems like just yesterday we were sliding down her hillside in soda flats, hair a mess, still in our pj's. Or sleeping on the air mattress on the deck at grandmas during the summer but that was about 20 years ago...its amazing how time flies. I spent the weekend with Janel and her mom, My Auntie Claudia. We did girly things like facials and pedicures, a little shopping that the outlets and a great dinner at a little sea food dive in Moss Landing. We followed that on Sunday with a leasurly breakfast where i had the best omelet I've ever tasted! We took the dogs to Monteray bay and they had the time of there lives! I had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful. Chomper liked the beach but was less than thrilled that i made him walk all 3 miles! he was exhausted when we got back to the car, and slept the entire 5 hour ride home!

Frog cake!

Well February 29th is a very special day, it happens only once every four years. That is pretty special, BUT in our family February 29th is special for a different reason! It is Jonnys birthday. Jonny is my nephew, He turned 4 this leap day, but his 1st REAL birthday! So in true leap day fashion his mommy planned a great frog themed party for him! And since I have a new found love of baking cakes, I offered to be the cake maker for his special day! I spent hours looking online for that perfect cake, and let me tell you there are some many great forg cakes out there. But the one that caught my eye, there was something about this cake i knew Jonny would just love. So i thougt about it and how i could make it a little different, and a little more "jonny" and i figured it out. The cake i saw was just a frog, very cute, and tasty looking, with one lone fly made of frosting on the cake board. I would make a frog but i would make MANY flys. I fashioned these flys on mini cupcakes and surrounded the Frog. I also placed a Fly Directly on his tounge. Jonny did love this, as did brynn and as i made it i watched her salivate and dream of stuffing her little face full of cake! The cake turned out great! it was such a hit with the kids! Im already trying to think of more reasons and events to make cakes for, I have so many ideas! We have a graduation coming up in our family...perhaps that.....

DISNEYLAND!

My husband is a hopeless Romantic, very thoughtful, and always trying to surprise me! don't get me wrong he still does ALL the annoying man things! but he did surprise me with a disneyland trip for Valentines day! I had no idea we were going until the very last minute, he came home from work and said pack a bag were going somewhere! awww...I really thought we were going to my cousins cause I had been dying to go visit her and she lives near Montery! NOPE! We didn't get to take little miss Brynn, it was the weekend of her moms baby shower, so that was a bummer, but we had an amazing half weekend at the happiest place on earth! It was good to have some time that was just for us. we needed that! We ran around that place like little kids! It was well worth the 14 hours that we spent driving there and back! And hey it guess what? I ended up getting pregnant that weekend! who knew that a weekend at the happiest place on earth would end in the result of a brand new life! HOW AMAZING!

the exploratorium!

A few weeks back we had a
little family outing to the
Exploratorium and Pier 39.
Brynn is such a little explorer,
that it was just the place
for her to be!

As she is sooo full of questions that need answers, she has a great desire
for knowledge and is such a sponge.

I love teaching her things,

and knowing she will carry
that knowledge with her for ever,
and one day teach her children.

Brynn and Steven made this masterpiece. She was SOOO intrigued with how this worked. It is proudly displayed in her bedroom as its a little to big for the fridge. :)
We then ventured to Pier 39 for some lunch and a carosel ride of course!

Hello morning sickness!

How exciting! today is the first morning that i feel nauseous. blah. I have been having horrible heart burn in the middle of the night, and I'm talking BAD. I normally don't go longer than two days without heartburn, i have a horrible case of acid reflux disease. but the medicine i take for that cannot be taken while pregnant. so I'm living on tums! tum-ta-tum-tum tums! lol!
But this morning as i sit here in my office, thinking about how i really wanted to stay in bed with my hubby today, Thursday's are his day off...:(
and i really want to throw up. i think ill feel better after i do, but i cant. so I'm sitting here trying to force feed myself cheerios with bananas.

Could it be?

well I have been feeling, well not myself for the last week, just sort of different. i felt fine, but my boobs were so sore, sore to the point that when i take my bra off, I would cry.

So Saturday afternoon I took a test! and there was a line, faint line, but definitely a line. My hubby is ecstatic! so Sunday morning I took another, another line!

I feel pregnant! I'm tired, I'm cranky, I'm HUNGRY all the time. I already had an appt scheduled for my yearly exam, for next Tuesday!

My wonderful aunt that works in labor and delivery at kaiser, told me I could just walk in and get a pregnancy test to be sure! and that way they would have it in the computer, and she could get me an appt with an ob sooner! So last night all excited I drove to Kaiser, Asked them for a test. they gave me the cup to pee in and told me to put it in the slot when i was finished. And then i sat in the waiting room....well waiting.
Finally the guy asked me why i was there and i told him i was waiting! and he told me that the lab was "closed" and to call tomorrow (well today) after 3!!!!!!!!!!!!! BLAHHHHHHHHHHHH! are you kidding me!

well, that wasn't good enough for me so i went and bought more pregnancy tests and they were all positive too! lol!!

So i am still waiting on the "official" hospital test, but i think 7 pregnancy tests later I'm pregnant! lol!

I'm sooooo excited! and very anxious!
there is so much to do, so much to get, so much to think about. We should probably move so that our kids dint have to share a room, i want a bigger car (even though there isn't anything wrong with mine, I'm just being bratty and probably wont get a different car.) I need maternity clothes, i need baby stuff, oh god....there is so much to do!

Pirate cake!

This was my first attempt at a cake that actually required more than a cake mix and frosting!

This was for my step-daughters 4th birthday, yes step daughter! she LOVES pirates, and insisted on having a Pirate themed party, so we all wore bandanas and eye patches, her pinata was a treasure chest and we even had a pirate jumpy house!

This cake was tons of fun, and challenging but definitly worth all the time it took, she was soo happy with the finished product that she wanted to keep it and not let anyone eat it!
